Chiddingly, East Sussex BN8 6HE (opposite The
Six Bells)
Tomorrow Saturday July 11th 2009
Pimm's with the Parson!
Around the Church and in the Old Vicarage garden adjacent
1.30 - 4.30pm Free entry, free
parking
The Fete is tomorrow, and there is lots on offer - four more new ideas for
stalls and games added this week.
A full list is written at the foot of this page. The Yummy Tea Shoppe will be back in action with cream teas, cake and strawberries; there will also be the
usual selection of mouth-watering cakes to buy.
And there’s the Barbeque for lunchtime, with a veggie option; Pimm’s,
soft drink and ice creams; books and plants stalls; Tombola, Bagatelle and other
games; Face Painting for the young at heart; Chiddingly School is treating us to
Maypole dancing (alright, Julypole, but at 2pm so arrive in good time); the
Austin 7s will be back; music will be provided by the Warbleton Brass Band and
the organ will be played in the Church; the Raffle has already collected a large
number of wonderful prizes to be given away…. And lots more.
A special attraction - ferret racing is back, but with a bit of a
difference, and these ones are especially tame and don't bite.
All funds and profits go to the Chiddingly Church General Fund; the weather
forecast is good but if it does rain, at least in July it will be warm rain.
Chiddingly has enjoyed its Church Fete for some years now, and it's an
excellent example of a rural Parish Church fete held in the Sussex
countryside. Come and see for yourself - and enjoy!
We suppose it worth mentioning at this stage
that if it is raining, the fete will continue in the Village Hall by the Church
and in various tents and marquees. It won't be abandoned!
